ELEMENT FASHION SHOW
As a student at Skidmore College, I was involved with organizing and designing for the Element Fashion Show. Below are three pieces I designed (1 dress, 1 skirt, 1 scarf). For the dress and skirt, I dyed cotton, using wax resist to create subtle circular patterns on the surface. I then cut patterns and sewed them into garments. I made the scarf in the same way, but used silk as my material choice. I was very influenced by batik silk painting, which I had learned at Skidmore in a fiber arts course.
