This series of small etchings documents my fascination with natural patterns and textures and the way they are formed, grow, and decay. Four of these prints were on display in the TREES II exhibition at Gallery Kayafas in Boston from June to August 2018. Later in the year I continued the series while working as an artist-in-residence at Edgewood Farm at the Truro Center for the Arts in November/December of 2018. In Truro, I took great inspiration from the Cape Cod National Seashore, taking notes of the enormous sand dunes, wind patterns in sand, and the resiliency of the plants living in the sandy, windy dune environment.
